Signed to his first deal at the tender age of 18, Stites has grown up in the music industry and gained perspective from the highest levels possible. Having been heavily immersed at the helm of the hottest music production teams in the world for much of his adult life, The Circle is Richard Stites's master work.
Founded in 2002, The Circle has evolved over the past three years. Always centered around Stites's lead vocals and keys (Fender Rhodes), the rest of the band includes DJ - Odie the Vinyl Mathematician, Jimmy Paxson Jr. on skins and beatdowns, John - lead guitar, Perry Frank - Bass and Juju on percussion.
2004 has been a busy year for The Circle playing venues throughout Los Angeles such as the Henry Fonda Theater, Ivar, Fais Dodo's, The Hollywood Playhouse, The Conga Room, Nocturnal Wonderland (National Orange Show Events Center) , El Dorado, Electric Daisy Carnival (NOS Events Center), Rock the Belles (Guerilla Union),Vinyl, KING*KING Hollywood, Backstage Live, Pig n Whistle Hollywood, Forbidden City, Smokin' Mirrors, The Roosevelt Hotel, and world famous Q-Topia events center.
The Circle has also played at several large-scale venues and festivals including Nappy @ The Roots, Midnight Mass, Solidarity of Soul Festival, Malcolm-X festival (5,000 person), Electric Daisy Carnival (17,000 person) and Nocturnal Wonderland Festival (20,000 person.)
The Circle recently completed their first album entitled "One".
The Circle's essence has been fused from the ether of greats like Zepplin, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Hendrix, Parliament and James Brown.
